2008

Joseph  Lemire, Class of 1997:  Former teachers remember him as an excellent student that was diligent and conscientious as he pursued academic success.  Well-rounded, he was a two-year starter for the SJAbasketball team while a Beta Club member and participated as a Student Council representative for three years.  He was presented the excellence award seven times during his years as SJA.  Continuing his education first at Phillips Academy Andover and then the University of Virginia, Joe made his mark on and off the playing field while he began to pursue his chosen career as a writer for the sports column of the Phillipian at Phillips and then for the Cavalier at the University of Virginia.  Today Joe lives in New York City and writes for Sports Illustrated.
