Student Council Induction

Student Council is a school activity that engages students to learn about local government, leadership and school spirit. The fourth through eighth grade students guide our younger students through school spirit and community activities. Our annual ceremony inducts new officers and members to the organization in September.

Beta Club Induction

Students in grades six, seven, and eight who maintain the required academic averages in all subjects and fulfill the requirements of character, service and leadership are eligible for this association. New officers and members are inducted in October.

Grandparents’ Day

The Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving is a big day for our students’ grandparents.This special day is reserved only for grandparents as our students perform skits and plays to wow their special grandparents. Grandparents are also invited to tour our school and relax in our cafe area.

Geography Bee

Students are put to the test with their knowledge of geography. Every December students in grades five through eight compete for the coveted title of Geography Bee winner and the chance to compete on the state level.

Spelling Bee

Grade five through eight are eligible to compete. They are tested at the grade level, with the top ten from each grade competing for the title of SJA Spelling Champion. The Spelling Bee is held every February.

Science Fair

Every March students participate in our Science Fair. Students follow the Scientific Method to discover how their particular project works. Parents and family members are invited to attend our event in March.

Art Fair

Our students’ creative talents are tapped into throughout the school year with their various art and craft projects. Their paintings and projects are judged and displayed in early April for their families to view.

May Fair

SJA’s May Fair has become a tradition. Every first Friday in May, students participate in May Fair games, activities, food and fun.
