ACADEMICS
The Accelerated Reader Program (AR Program) is used within our Language Arts curriculum to develop a student’s ability to read independently. The program, along with the teacher, assesses a student's reading level and recommends titles of books to read. Then, after the student has read the book, AR assesses whether a student has read and understood what he/she has read by means of a quiz in which the student is asked a series of questions. The number of books a student has to read and the timeframe given to complete the book and take the quiz is determined by the teacher. As students progress through the program they will improve their ability to read and comprehend at a higher level

All students grades K - 8 participate in the AR Program.
